Ioana is a theatre artist with a multidisciplinary practice covering acting, directing, and producing. With a focus on live theatre, her work is also in film and podcast.

Her podcast ‘Out of Nothing’ investigates the process of theatre making without a recipe and focuses on sharing those experiences and cumulated knowledge. First episode to be launched January 2025.

She will be Assistant Director for Simon Pilling on the production of ‘Dudley Road’ by Cameron Corcoran at the Union Theatre.

In 2024 she founded 2 production companies, Oddity and Indigo Creative, and has had 2 artistic debuts in London: as an actor and as a director. ‘Dreaming Revenge’ by Oddity, which she wrote and was the lead in, had a short work-in-progress run at Applecart Arts, June 2024. She is currently working on the final version of the show, but a trailer can be found here.

Time and Time Again’ by Indigo Creative, her first credit as a director, will soon be touring, after its run at The Space Theatre October 2024.

She graduated from the Collaborative Theatre Making program at Rose Bruford College November 2023. Her final research paper explored The Foundation of Acting - what allows performers to explore and expand their creative boundaries throughout their practice, what foundation do they need before they can start working on characters and create.

Ioana is from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where she also studied a BA in Theatre and Performance Arts (Acting). Graduating with honours, her dissertation was on The Foreign Language as a Mask - the impact of the foreign language on the actor’s performance.
